Today's topic was on favourite graphic novels or ones on my TBR, but since I haven't read so many (other than Paper Girls, Ms. Marvel and Nimona which I love) I thought I'd put a little spin on it.

Radio Silence might be one of my all time favourite contemporaries, so I knew I had to have a copy of Alice Oseman's debut in my hands.

Title: History is All You Left Me
Author: Adam Silvera
Genre: Contemporary
Warnings: death, grief, unhealthy relationships

I had very on-and-off feelings about History is All You Left Me, but ultimately the book made me a little uneasy.

Jumping from past to present events was really effective here given how grief often doesn't work chronologically, but I think a bit of it was done just for dramatic effect. The loss of a loved one is all-consuming, but it didn't quite make sense to me that I as a reader was with Griffin for every thought he had, and yet there were huge things that were not revealed until the end.

Following on from My Top Action/Drama TV Shows, I thought it was high time I spread some love for some truly incredible cartoons.
I hardly consider myself an animation expert, but I have been watching more cartoons of late. They're less stressful than pretty much all the other shows I watch, but also have a surprising amount of depth to them that makes them possible to appreciate by people of all ages.

I can't lie - I'm a sucker for mainstream reads. I don't trust myself to go into a book blind without at least one person telling me they liked it. But sometimes I do take that chance, and it turns out for the better. Here are 10 hidden gem books that although you may not have heard of, you NEED to read.

With all the amazing releases of 2016, I found I ended up missing out on a lot of them. Hopefully I don't get too caught up in 2017 releases, because here are 8 books published last year that I still need to read.

I feel incredibly guilty that my first read of 2017 ended up being one I won't be finishing, even more so because I was provided an e-copy of it for review.

This is my first time doing Perpetual Page Turner's brilliant bookish survey and it was a lot of fun! In it I look at my reading statistics, as well as some of the best and (the not-so-best) books of 2016, as well as what books I'm looking forward to this year.
